101 Ways to Build Link Popularity – This one is is super old, but so much of it still true. As a quick guide this one by Aaron Wall is still stuffed with great ideas.
Becoming A Clockwork Pirate – This downloadable e-book is still brand new and is packed with loads of great content, tips and actionable ideas. Written by Kelvin Newman this great resource is available to you for the princely sum of….a tweet. highly recommended. If you don’t use Twitter (why not?) you can get the basics of the link building guide here.
Free Link Building Tips – A selection of tips and thoughts around various link building tactics from Shaun Anderson – 24 blog posts packed with actionable ideas.
Finally, some tips on link building from Matt Cutts over at Google.
Wiep.net – Home of Wiep Knol, a Dutch link building expert. You can get hints, tips, strange and unusual ideas for links – highly recommended.
Linkspiel – Owned and managed by Debra Mastaler, Linkspiel is a great place to drop by to pick up tips and commentary on all things link based.
Open Site Explorer – Comes in a free or paid for version, this tool is great for analysing both yours and your competitors backlinks.
Yahoo Site Explorer – It probably won’t be around much longer but is a great way to quickly check backlinks
Quirk Search Status – This great little tool has so much more to it than link analysis and is great for easily spotting which links are followed and which are nofollow.
