    Hi Susan, great video.
    Just want to pick up on a point about duplicate content. Where do we stand with article marketing? eg using a blog post and submitting it to ezine, specialist websites and squidoo etc…. would we get penalised for this?

    Great question, Jayne!

    With regards to duplicate content, it really depends on who is doing the duplicating. If the original content is on your site, and other sites are copying the content, such as article directories, then the search engines will know that you are the originator, and they are doing the copying. So no penalty for you, and no value and possibly a penalty for them.

    Obviously, the search engines will need to have discovered and indexed the content on your site first, so make sure it is fully attributed to you before sending copies out to other sites.

    And finally, the value of article marketing sites has fallen signficantly. Guest blogging is a great SEO tool, but generally speaking they won’t want copies of articles already published elsewhere on the web.
