The Client
The Office of the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights (OHCHR) UN Free & Equal is an unprecedented global UN public information campaign which promotes equal rights and the fair treatment of LGBT people. They carry out vital work on a global scale, on important issues of human rights and equality.
The Challenge
The UN Free & Equal campaign team at the UN approached Hallam to work together on raising LGBT rights awareness of more than 15 million users through the integrated platforms around the world. The goal was to reach the maximum number of people possible with an important and high-profile message, targeting specific countries and demographics across the globe.
Our work
We created and executed a global-scale social media strategy with deep, selective audience targeting on Facebook and YouTube.
As a result, the campaign reached over 15 million people through a seres of powerful videos and social media posts, promoting equal rights and the fair treatment of LGBT people.
We’ve developed a close working relationship with the UN campaign team based in New York, managing the time differences and cultural preferences, and gaining a good understanding of each other’s preferred methods of working to create a tightly integrated partnership.
By working in this way, we were able to collaborate in the creation of highly sensitive and powerful content to reach a truly global audience for a valuable and essential cause.
