This year, we hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning, joining the thousands of other businesses, communities, friends and families also taking part across the UK.

Held this year on Friday 29th September, the Macmillan Coffee Morning raises vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity who offer support to those living with cancer and their families at every stage of the experience.

This support ranges from the physical and emotional support of Macmillan Nurses and the Macmillan Support Line, as well as services like free counselling and the Macmillan Buddy scheme, all the way to financial support services such as will-writing, Macmillan grants, the Work Support Service, and much, much more.

Jake Third, our MD, said: “The Macmillan Coffee Morning is one of the most important events in the Macmillan calendar for receiving donations each year. With millions of people being affected by cancer – and with some of our team members’ families having received invaluable support from Macmillan’s services – it was a cause that we were keen to support. While thousands of people raise incredible amounts for Macmillan each year, we were really pleased to raise £215 from a morning spent in good company, with great cake.”

How to take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning

Since completing the B Corp process, we’ve been honing our CSR strategy as part of our belief in doing business better. Whilst we’ve been exploring new initiatives for our team and the types of businesses we work with, we’ve also been focusing on how we can give back to the community around us.

In 2022, Macmillan’s services reached 2 million people living with cancer, with £19 million in Macmillan Grants given out and millions more secured in benefits thanks to advice given by Macmillan’s Support Line, all possible because of the donations people around the world make to the charity every year.

Interested in taking part? You can sign up to host your coffee morning all year round and you’ll even receive a Coffee Morning kit from Macmillan, including bunting, a tablecloth, cake flags and balloons, as well as your own fundraising page which you can customise to display your business logo and information.

This is just one of the ways we’re trying to give back; find out more about the work we’re doing to help our community.
